Ugo is an astute professional and business executive with extensive experience spanning over 20 years in management, business strategy and the oil and gas industry.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and a Barrister at Law (BL) from the Nigerian Law School.

Ugo is also a graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Law where he graduated with a Juris Doctorate (JD) and was on the Dean’s list. He is also an alumnus of the MIT Sloan School of Management’s Advanced Management Program and also Harvard Business School (HBS).

As the founder and CEO of SunTrust Atlantic Energies Limited (formerly SunTrust Oil), Ugo is actively involved in the strategic development and operations of the Umusadege field. His role in the activities and operations of the Umusadege field includes the provision of strategic advice through the operating and management committees of the Umusadege joint venture and direct involvement in the entire production value chain of the Umusadege field.

In addition to SunTrust Atlantic’s board, Ugo serves on the boards of various companies in which SunTrust Atlantic holds interests. Among these are Umugini Pipeline Infrastructure Limited (owner and operator of a 52km crude oil pipeline from Kwale to Eriemu), Midsun GGF Limited (a crude oil gathering and processing facility) and Ingentia Energies Limited (operator of the Egbolom field-Petroleum Prospecting License 202).

Under Ugo’s leadership, SunTrust Atlantic signed a production sharing contract with the Government of the Republic of Niger in respect of the award of the Tounfalis block. In 2022, SunTrust Atlantic was awarded 35.82% participating interest in PPL202 (formerly OML23) during the 2020 marginal field bid round. Ugo served as immediate past Chairman of the Board of Ingentia Energies Limited and inaugural Chairman of the Operating Committee of the PPL202 joint venture, bringing to bear his invaluable experience to drive strategy for successful and sustainable operations.

The Egbolom field (with proven reserves of about 70 million barrels) was brought to first oil in April 2024, during Ugo’s chairmanship of Ingentia’s Board of Directors and PPL202’s Operating Committee.
